What is a quarantine suit?
The purpose of the gowns is to help protect your front-line caregivers and staff from infected droplets, liquid penetration and solids, and to help prevent the transfer of microorganisms to vulnerable residents.
There are two main types of gowns used in medical care: surgical gowns and non-surgical gowns.
Surgical gowns are personal protective clothing worn by health care workers during surgery to protect patients and health care workers from the transfer of microorganisms, body fluids and particulate matter.
Non-surgical or isolation gowns are Class I devices (exempt from premarket review) designed to protect the wearer from microbial and fluid transfer in low-risk or minimum-risk patient isolation situations. Non-surgical gowns should not be worn during surgical procedures, invasive procedures, or when there is a moderate to high risk of contamination.
