Unfortunately, even after a year, the crisis is not over. America is not alone in facing this crisis. Even European countries are struggling to get enough protective gear for front-line workers.
However, after a number of leading personal protective equipment companies significantly increased production, the shortage gradually eased. The U.S. government has introduced a number of policies and programs to encourage companies to expand medical device production. Even companies outside the medical device industry are required to make medical devices such as personal protective equipment and ventilators. The shortage of personal protective equipment was effectively solved.
